Light, Landscape and Architecture
Laura Johnston Studios transforms public spaces through light, colour, and form-creating environments that inspire, comfort, and connect. Since 1996, Laura has delivered large-scale projects across the UK, from sculptural installations and her celebrated Lightworks series to a therapeutic garden for critical care patients at James Cook University Hospital.
Her pioneering PhD in the architectural use of thin-film glass and ongoing research with Durham University’s Enlighten Project shape a practice grounded in innovation and well-being. Guided by the belief that our surroundings directly affect how we feel, Laura continues to create uplifting spaces that enrich daily life.
From sculptural installations to healing gardens, Laura Johnston Studios positively transforms our experience of public spaces.
